What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit the website. Cookies are then sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognizes that cookie, to develop a record of the user’s online activity. Second Street does not use cookies to track your activity and as our cookies are specific to a given promotion or contest, we don’t track cookies across promotions or contests. We only use the cookies to keep track of what account was used between sessions, so that one doesn’t have to enter a login and password each time a contest is visited on the same computer. The cookies installed by these promotions and contests that persist do not contain any Personal Identification Information (PII), they only contain information pertinent to the promotion or contest. The one  cookie with the user’s email address is a session cookie that is destroyed at the end of each session.
